I didn't start with Figma. I started with a biro and the back of my maths notebook — little boxes, arrows, labels for things that didn't exist yet. My mum called it wasting paper. I called it work.

The first thing that felt like real design was a poster for a church youth event in 2017. Someone needed it by Friday. I had WordArt, Canva, and no sleep. It wasn't good, but people showed up, and that was enough to keep going.

Product design came later — after freelancing, after a few bad clients, after learning that the pretty part is maybe twenty percent of the job. The rest is asking why, watching someone struggle with a button, and fixing it without making a speech about it.

This blog is where I put the parts that don't fit a case study or a Substack essay. Raw notes. Admin can swap every word and every image here whenever the story changes.

The family

This is the family — ten characters born from ten feelings I couldn't leave in my head. Each one started as an alter ego: a mood, a version of me on a different day. I converted those feelings into characters until they became their own people.
